Northwest Cages has been designing and handcrafting world-class quality custom stainless steel bird cages for nearly 25 years.
The owner, John Rogers, is a Metallurgical/Welding Engineer and built high quality stainless steel equipment for the dairy, food processing, and pharmaceutical industry for over 42 years until his retirement in 2016. In 1995, he began a world-wide search for a quality stainless steel cage for his family’s Umbrella Cockatoo. He found nothing available that could meet his exacting standards.
Our Expertise
His technical expertise, years of experience and passions were in fabricating stainless steel products, so John decided to make a cage for his cockatoo himself. After several months of experimenting with his designs and manufacturing techniques, he successfully crafted a cage for his cockatoo that met his family’s needs and his high quality standards. He discovered that other bird lovers around the country, and the world, had had similar fruitless searches for a quality stainless steel cage, so he decided to integrate what he had learned and started Northwest Cages to fill those bird owners’ needs.
